Background

Originally from Illinois but having lived in the west since 1980, Councilmember Johnson moved to Castle Rock with her husband, Bruce, in 2005. She is a graduate of Idaho State University, with a bachelor’s degree in Administration, and a graduate of the University of Utah, with a master’s degree in Geography with a Planning Certification.

Since moving to Castle Rock, Councilmember Johnson has volunteered in many capacities in the community, as a commission member for Parks and Recreation and Water, a Master Gardener, a Girl Scout Leader, and volunteer support at local schools and the Philip S. Miller Library.

Councilmember Johnson and her husband enjoy spending their free time outdoors – hiking, camping, riding their tandem bicycle – and traveling. They have a daughter who lives in Longmont, she is pursuing her master’s degree in Geology at CSU, and a son attending MSU Denver, pursuing his bachelor’s degree in Geography.
