Fire Chief Norris Croom receives Ronny Jack Coleman Leadership Legacy Award

The Center for Public Safety Excellence named Castle Rock Fire and Rescue Chief Norris W. Croom III its 2021 Ronny Jack Coleman Leadership Legacy Award recipient. 

The Ronny Jack Coleman Leadership Legacy Award recognizes individuals committed to elevating the fire and emergency service profession through mentoring, teaching, advocating and sharing outstanding contributions. 

Chief Croom was selected for the award for his leadership in advocating for the public safety credentialing process within CRFD, and beyond the agency. 

“I am extremely humbled and honored to receive the national award recognizing excellence in the public safety profession,” said Chief Croom. “At Castle Rock Fire, we place a high value on meeting and exceeding quality standards, and achieving professional credentialing is one way in which we demonstrate our commitment to excellence.”

Chief Croom served on the Commission on Professional Credentialing for 9 years. During this time, he was instrumental in providing insight and resources to be an advocate for professional credentialing. Throughout his commission tenure, he was actively involved in initiatives and plans to improve the fire service and EMS profession through enhancing the professional designation process.
