Road closures planned for Butterfield Crossing Drive reconstruction

Butterfield-NEWS

Motorists in The Meadows can expect some slight delays and road closures starting Wednesday, June 12, as crews begin reconstruction work on Butterfield Crossing Drive.

Over the next few months, crews will remove the concrete and replace it with asphalt along Butterfield Crossing Drive between North Meadows Drive and Meadows Boulevard. Some work began earlier this summer. Due to the unusually wet spring, phased closures are now necessarily to complete the work before school starts.

The closures are:

  • June 12 through 26 – east of the Butterfield Crossing Park entrance to Rosecrown Avenue
  • June 27 – intersection of Rosecrown Avenue and Butterfield Crossing Drive
  • June 28 through July 11 – east of Rosecrown Avenue to west of Bluegrass Circle
  • July 12 through 18 – Bluegrass Circle west to east of Bluegrass Circle
  • July 19 through 29 – Bluegrass Circle east to North Meadows Drive

The dates for each closure are weather dependent, however, crews will work through each phase as quickly as possible. Motorists should use caution in the area, slow down and obey all traffic signage. More information, including a map, detours and project information, is available at CRgov.com/Butterfield.

This year, more than 127 lane miles in The Meadows will be maintained through the Town’s Pavement Maintenance Program. The Council-approved road program concentrates residential road maintenance to one of five areas each year on a rotating basis. Additionally, primary and Downtown streets receive repairs as needed. The goal is to increase efficiency, reduce costs and minimize disruption to residents.

In all, the Town will invest $15 million in street maintenance this year. That funding is primarily from the Town’s Transportation Fund, which includes revenues from sales tax, motor vehicle tax and business use tax.
