Town magazine moves from the printing press to the Internet
Read about an intense workout; one man’s dual life; where to see hand-painted tiles; and where a couple practices their swing at CRgov.com/outlook.
That webpage showcases the latest issue of the Town of Castle Rock’s award-winning Outlook magazine – the first of two Outlooks planned for this year.
Outlook previously was delivered to all Castle Rock residents’ homes via mail. The latest Outlook is being offered online as part of a pilot program aimed at saving money and paper.
Residents should receive a postcard in the mail soon, alerting them that Outlook is available. But there is no need to wait – log on today to read the 32-page magazine. Among the other topics it covers:
· INVEST, the Castle Rock Economic Partnership
· An update on Town finances and details of the 2010 Strategic Plan
· Profiles of Your Town Council members
· A listing of upcoming events in Castle Rock
“This first electronic edition of Outlook advances our aim to provide more Town services online while providing readers the same high-quality design and writing that previously has been offered in the printed version of the magazine,” Deputy Town Manager Fritz Sprague said. “We are excited to see residents’ reaction to this new delivery method and welcome feedback on the Outlook.”
A limited number of hard copies of the latest Outlook soon will be available. Printed editions can be requested by e-mailing communityrelations@CRgov.com or by calling 303-660-1345.
The first Outlook was printed in 2003 and evolved out of the previous Town newsletter, the Communicator. The magazine underwent a major overhaul in 2007 to the full-color, attractive design the community enjoys today.
Recent awards for Outlook include a Silver Circle Award in the Printed Publications – Magazine category in 2008 from the City-County Communications and Marketing Association.
Please direct feedback on Outlook, including on the online delivery, to the above e-mail address or to 303-660-1380.
Read the Outlook now.
