Change up your commute and enter to win prizes at Bike to Work Day June 22

Bike to Work Day

Put the pedal to the pavement this Bike to Work Day Wednesday, June 22.

The Town of Castle Rock will host a free breakfast for bicyclists (and walkers and runners) this year from 6:30 to 9 a.m. at Festival Park, near Second and Perry streets. Participants will also enjoy giveaways and prizes from a variety of event sponsors.

This year, participants have a chance to win punch cards to the MAC and Recreation Center, a Slide the City ticket, or gift cards to some of Castle Rock’s most popular restaurants.

To participate, just bike, carpool, walk or rollerblade to work, and stop by Festival Park on your way. Registration is not required, but those who do will be entered into a drawing for additional prizes from the Denver Regional Council of Governments. (Participants do not have to preregister for a chance to win local prizes.) Registration is online,

This year’s event sponsors for the Town include: Castle Rock Adventist Hospital, Castle Rock Bike and Ski, the Castle Rock Recreation Center, Elements Massage, Harmony, King Soopers, Lost Coffee, Red Hawk Ridge Golf Course and Union Bistro.

Bike to Work Day is an annual event to raise awareness of other ways to get where you’re going. Sponsored by the Denver Regional Council of Governments, the goal is to promote bicycling as a commute choice in hopes workers will try it and form a habit of riding to work.
